Cremation

  • PRIVATE
Individual — or private — cremation is a process where only one pet is present in the cremation chamber, similar to the process used for human cremations. After cremation, we remove your pet's cremated remains from the chamber and return them to you in an urn of your choice. This is the only pet cremation service we offer at Chippewa Valley Cremation Services & Celebration of Life Center. In addition, every pet that comes into our care is assigned a metal numeric cremation tag that stays with your pet from the time it comes into our care, until the time you take their cremated remains home with you. This is just one more step we take to help ease your comfort in knowing that you are getting your pets cremated remains and not that of someone else's pet.

"Such short little lives our pets have to spend with us, and they spend most of it waiting for us to come home each day. It is amazing how much love and laughter they bring into our lives and even how much closer we become with each other because of them."

— John Grogan, Marley and Me: Life and Love with the World's Worst Dog

Frequently Asked Questions about Pet Cremation

Many pet owners choosing cremation have questions. These are some of the most common...

How do I know I'm getting my pet's cremated remains back and not someone else's?

How do I know I'm getting my pet's cremated remains back and not someone else's?

Chippewa Valley Cremation Services & Celebration of Life Center uses a unique identification system which involves a crematory proof, metal tag with a unique identification number. This is shown to families at the time we take possession of their beloved pet. It then follows their pet through the cremation process. The tag remains in the chamber with their pet during the cremation process. The tag is affixed to the cremated remains upon removal from the crematory. When using Chippewa Valley Cremation Services & Celebration of Life Center, you can have 100% confidence that your pet is being cared for like it was a member of our own family.

Generally our practice is to perform pet cremations once per week. We utilize refrigeration to hold pets until the time of cremation. In some cases, cremation of your beloved pet can take up to two weeks if we are busy serving families in our funeral homes. Becasue we are a funeral home, we have to cater to families that have lost their loved ones first as we are legally bound to follow that practice. If you would like more in-depth information about the cremation process, please call us anytime at (715) 835-3333.
